Where MoonHydra wins
Server-encrypted vs browser-resident keys
Photon stores the private key in-browser. A compromised extension, a malicious overlay, a browser-zero-day — all of these reach the key. MoonHydra encrypts the key with AES-256-GCM and a random IV per wallet on the server; the master key lives only in the operator's environment. Browser compromises don't reach it.
Telegram-first means mobile-first
Photon's mobile experience is mobile-web, which is fiddly. A trade card pasted into a Telegram chat is one tap to the quick-buy button. For traders who are 60%+ on mobile (most memecoin traders are), the friction difference compounds.
Compartmentalized wallets, by design
Photon supports multi-wallet but doesn't structure them as personas. MoonHydra ships an active-wallet switcher in /wallet — one tap to toggle between sniping head, swing head, copy head. No cap on the number of heads. Compartmentalization is the product, not an afterthought.
Flat 1% — no tier game
Photon offers rebates at volume tiers; most traders never hit them. MoonHydra is 1% flat. Same fee at $100 trade volume as at $1M. Predictable, comparable across the year.
Where Photon wins (honest version)
- → Photon ships the best charting UX in the category — Trading-View-class, multi-pane, custom indicators. If you trade by chart, that's decisive.
- → Order-book-style visibility for routes with multiple Jupiter hops. MoonHydra shows expected output but not the multi-hop breakdown.
- → Web-app reach — no Telegram account required, lower onboarding friction for traders who already live in browsers all day.
Chart-driven traders who want full route visibility should pick Photon. Mobile-first traders who want multi-wallet compartmentalization + server-side AES encryption should pick MoonHydra.
Migrating from Photon
- In Photon, export or copy the private key from your browser session.
- Open @moonhydrabot in Telegram and send
/start. - Use
/wallet→ Import Existing to paste the Photon key into the encrypted-import flow (or just /start a fresh Hydra Head and transfer SOL across). - The instant the key arrives, MoonHydra encrypts it with AES-256-GCM and discards the plaintext from memory. Message auto-deletion fires on the import confirmation.
- From now on the same key is encrypted server-side, not browser-resident. Same address, different storage model.
Want multi-wallet + AES-256 without giving up speed?
MoonHydra is Telegram-first, non-custodial, and as many Hydra Heads deep as you want. Try it alongside Photon — keep both, pick by trade.
